REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have knowledge of AML (Anti-Money Laundering)/KYC (Know Your Customer) components and suspicious activity detection
• 2+ years experience in compliance or related position
• Familiarity with the firm's internal systems and processes
• Self-starter, capable of working under minimum supervision
• Adept to multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment
• Results oriented team player
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Able to work in all variable weather conditions
• Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to examine large amounts of data, decipher higher risk attributes (transactional, geographical product, customer type, etc) and disposition appropriately.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Legal and Compliance Department of JP Morgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal and compliance services to the Corporation. the department also includes the Office of the Secretary
• Conduct periodic internal account/customer reviews to identify potentially suspicious activity
• Completely and accurately document steps taken through the investigation process
• Interface with bankers to obtain information related to their client's transaction history
• Work with internal groups to ensure consistent understanding of requirements
• Function as key contributor with demonstrated knowledge of AML/KYC issues, as well as broader functional knowledge
• Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports in compliance with established regulatory guidelines and time frames
• Interview customer when applicable
• Possibly escalate cases to law enforcement
• Effectively obtain information and assistance from appropriate law enforcement agencies, peer banks, and other external groups on AML issues and cases
• Participate in the development of goals and execution of strategies within the function or department
• Operate under direct supervision of the Compliance Manager, and may at times receive guidance from a Senior Compliance Officer
